The Globe & Bangabandhu Soft Federation

Globe is in a Soft Federation Partnership with another Tower Hamlets Primary School – Bangabandhu Primary School.

From September 2018 a Soft Federation Partnership has been established between Globe and Bangabandhu Primary Schools.

Both Globe and Bangabandhu retain their own individual identify, ethos and uniqueness. We are very much committed to this and have no plans for this to become a Hard Federation or a Multi-Academy Trust.

When the Federation started in 2018 and for 8 years, there was an Executive Headteacher who worked across both schools and developed strong partnership working to the point where both schools have a shared ethos, values, curriculum, resources and staffing.  Upon her retirement there was a strong commitment and intent to continue the Soft Federation but without the Executive Headteacher role.  As of September 2026, the federation has continued but with a Headteacher for each school and some shared middle and senior leaders.  A memorandum of understanding has been agreed by both Governing Bodies. This agreement is reviewed annually by the Governing Bodies of both schools, who will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of this arrangement.
