Our Early Years Intervention Provision
Background
From September 2025, we have opened a Local Authority Funded Specialist Inclusion Base which we call the Early Years Intervention Provision, on our nursery site. This nursery site was previously Rachel Keeling Nursery School which amalgamated with Globe Primary School in September 2025.
This has given us the capacity to work with the Local Authority to increase the support for nursery age children who have been identified as having communication, social, learning, or other developmental needs and who require a nursery place with specialist support.
Aims
The aim of the provision is for the early identification of needs and then providing for those needs within our mainstream nursery provision with targeted interventions and support.
We will also work also with parents, professionals and other school settings to establish a clear pathway for how the children’s needs will be met in their post nursery settings.
We will support and prepare the children and families for the transition to Reception as well as developing effective liaison with the receiving settings.
Places
We provide 20 places. They are 15-hour places. 10 places in the morning, 10 in the afternoon.
Morning: 9am – 12 00
Afternoon: 12 30pm – 3 30pm
How Places Are All
Entry to the Early Years Intervention Provision is through the decision making of a Local Authority, multi-disciplinary, Under 5s Panel who consider referrals made by a range of professionals who have contact with children under 5 and their families. This panel meets monthly. When the decision is made that a child would benefit from the support that we can provide, then we contact the family, arrange a visit to our provision and take it from there.
Please note that entry to the provision is not through the nursery Eadmissions process or through, parents or professionals contacting our school directly. It is only via the Local Authority Panel.
